Jorb please go play like two wipes of Rust on a monthly server. The beauty of raids there can't be really conveyed through text, you need to feel it yourself. The basic concept is requiring attackers to bring expensive shit (explosives) and loudly announce to half the server that they're bringing out that expensive shit and they should come and try to steal it, but you can't really understand the excitement and chaos of it until you've DB-d an AK guy with a row of rockets on him only to get killed by a compound bow while looting the body.

lol, sounds pretty awesome to be fair! Some of the recent-ish changes to siege have at least some conceptual overlap with that in requiring cost and being a low-key announcement, and such. Appreciate the recommendation.

no idea about what cost we are talking about

siege materials for aggressors right now are basically as costly as block of wood


w16.1 siege mechanics are one of the worst, why? It takes 16h of ram drying + 2h of thing peace to completely wipe someone village
a hermit can go to sleep, then work, then come back to non existing village. Pretty fun ngl

if defender decide to play siege chess, it goes to simple check of who has more brimstone and time to spend in game..

basically, fuck all working ppl

I think whatever ideals of pvp action you may have will most likely be possible behind some realm iteration.
And besides, the idea of realms is cool, it's just that there is so much more to fix on this game atm lol.

server side field of vision, that you cant see gobs past walls and obstacles, terrain z-index, element of surprise - just like any other fps

The last fight that happened in winter was in 2020 or 2021, and I'm being generous to call it a fight. 1/6ish of the the time the game is straight up unplayable. The fixes to this are so simple it'd take less dev time than a regular patch. Not fixed in 5+ years. A dozen similar issues.

Talking about reworking realms for the Nth time instead, even though nobody cares about realms. Delusional.
