I'm not playing anything else. I'm not watching anything. I'm not listening to anything. Just sitting in a dark room on the floor, waiting for the season to come online... Bleeding from the knuckles as I punch holes in the walls, telling myself it's just a bleed I applied, that it'll tick for value, that I am building combo points off the drywall. The sounds repeat in my head — "Dance, mortals" — the Eldrin Acolyte, over and over, and I dodge nothing because there is nothing to dodge, because the season is not on.
I'm filled with rage that I'm not in that first dungeon, slipping out of stealth behind some Tuzari brute, twisting daggers into a spider's back, watching my poison stack and my shadow clones peel off to do the killing for me. I have read the patch notes five times. I know Malevolence is untouched. I know Deadly Scheme is spend-based now. I have it all rehearsed — the energy clock, the finisher twist, the crit window — and nowhere to put any of it.
Turn the season on. Turn it on now or I'm going to lose it and start tearing up the floorboards looking for spiders to backstab. I know there are no spiders under there. I will check anyway. I just entered stealth behind my refrigerator. I am waiting for the opener. It is not coming. Nothing is coming. There is only the launcher and the dark and the Acolyte in my head telling me to dance.
Turn it on. I am an assassin of the Fellowship and you cannot do this to me. I have a whole pull mapped — Eldrin first, casters die first, everyone knows casters die first — and I am screaming it at an empty room. LET ME IN. Let me kill the spiders. Let me just kill the spiders.
