Pro tip for swamps

Postby ninja_yodeler » Wed Sep 02, 2015 11:26 am

Wasn't sure which thread this would be best acknowledged in, decided to make my own.

1. Forage clovers or tame horses.
2. Take horses to nearest swamp.
3. Horses have the jesus ability of walking on top of shallow water with no speed penalty
4. ??? (clear entire swamps of dragonflys in minutes with 0 stamina penalty)
5. Profit.

Also make rabbits a hell of a lot easier to catch

Just make sure you get off the horse quickly when pony power has dropped. Because getting thrown almost killed me

You can gather dragonflies on horses? When I tried on a horse, it went to where the dragonfly was when I right clicked on it - it didn't chase it. It does indeed work for rabbits though!

Edit: Seems to be working fine today... I'm going crazy.

Just a clover, pick it up, while holding it right-click on a horse and eventually he'll come eat the clover.
After he eats it you right-click on the horse and go "Giddy Up!" and you'll see a pony power bar appear under your stamina - This is how long you can ride the horse for. I've depleted this bar and been kicked off a horse for 65 soft damage.

Horses don't go on time, but on distance traveled/stamina. The slower you make your horse, the longer it will last. If you sprint at super fast speed, it will be very shot but VERY fast.

You can not refill the bar. Only one clover. You can feed more clovers but no refill bar, I tried.

It depends on what speed he is going at. At 2 speed it lasts ages, at 3 speed a few mins, and at sprint hardly any time at all :p
(2 speed horse is faster than 3 speed hearthling, i think - didnt test the others because we had an uhhhh... accident)

I'm thinking 3 speed horses would be really useful for hunting...
