Weird Music Behaviour

Postby rollinggun73 » Fri Sep 04, 2015 9:26 am

So sometimes when wandering around or just sitting still like when fishing, I'll hear some music fade in, play for about 5-10 seconds, then fade out again. This happens around every 5 minutes.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I just thought its jorbtards preference. I mean, they like that shitty ass font, too. So why not butcher the music.

I think it has something to do with transitioning between biomes. I know Jorb said he was thinking about having individual music for each biome. Problem is some biomes are tiny.

Not sure of exactly what you are experiencing. There is a general ambition to have the music be just a few notes on the wind from time to time, against a backdrop of mostly ambient sounds.

I thought it was a glitch or something just with how quickly it would fade in and out.

Idk. If it seems unintentional I guess there's work to do.

The ambiance is very much a work in progress.

Are you referring to the old Haven & Hearth music? If so I think that's intended, just like the new music fades in and out as well.

It's very random, short, and jarring. I think it needs a smoother transition in and out rather than how abrupt it is now to alleviate some of the surprise. Music is a powerful tool and can soothe players or put them on high alert, as it is now it's a bit confusing.

Agreed, the old haven music isn't exactly calming, rather supposed to feel upbeat and probably intended to keep your eyelids open as you fish.

Are you referring to the music generally, or to a particular clip?
