Music sheets?

Postby blazsword » Thu Sep 24, 2015 6:40 pm

So do you guys use any website for the music sheets for the instruments ingame or do you just make it yourself? I'm really confused because i would love to play other songs. Anyway i assume people are just doing them their self then posting the correct notes for that certain song onto the forum?

If you don't know music, you shouldn't play it.

Just my honest opinion.

That doesn't make any sense at all.

Your opinion sucks.

I can barely read tabs let alone an actual sheet of musical notation but as long as you have ears you can do just fine in learning songs.

The songs I've posted in the songs thread so far have been learned through the process of "listen to some version of the song on youtube and match the notes" which does seem to take some time but so far I have been happy with the end result.

Beyond doing that or actually knowing how to read a sheet of music or tab, other websites that provide you songs are only useful if you can get your hands on a client with an MML reader implemented or the devs implement one themselves.

Why is it everyone wants to learn to play music but refuses to learn the theory behind it ?
It just doesn't work, or at least not very efficiently.

If you don't want to learn how to read sheet music you will have to do it by ear.
Or you could just youtube some simple piano tutorials I guess  *sigh*

You don't need to know number theory to do math, just like you don't need to know music theory to play songs someone else wrote. You don't really need to know much of it to write your own songs. Just look at The Ramones (or just about anyone in pop music for that matter).

Learning to read music isn't hard, but it does take some patience and practice, and then not everyone is good at sight reading. I still personally prefer to look at tablature notation when I'm playing guitar as it is easier to follow along even though I have about six years of performance experience in symphonic and performance music.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I guess its a big deal to someone who did spend a lot of time learning it.
I would like to have an easy way to get the notes in Haven inputs as well.

Music is the beautiful expression of the soul. It is truly a personal experience. You may share similar interest in types but each person experiences it differently. The mind may desire logic and organization but the heart only feels. Theory is fine but some only want to feel. :)

You're gonna have a hard time making me feel something if you don't even know what note you're pressing. ¦]

I have learned from personal experience and from many of my friends who play several instruments that improving will be alot slower if you lack theory.
You should get some basic knowledge of reading music or you will be forever stuck in the "now you press this key" phase. :(
