Mouse

Postby dageir » Sun Aug 21, 2016 7:06 am

Hello!
I know you people are pretty computer savvy, so I will ask for advice here.
I'm looking for a computer mouse that is good for both gaming and other things (like browsing for new memes and some work).
I do not want a "racy" computer mouse that looks like a space ship with blinking lights etc. I want one that look close to a regular mouse (computer mouse), but
with some extra buttons and good ergonomic adaptations. Any suggestions?

Edit: Preferably wireless.

Logitech M705 wireless mouse: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/m ... mouse-m705

Pretty decent, used mine for years. Few extra buttons on the left side for customization. Generally most things by Logitech are pretty good.

Generally, yeah, most are. I've found a few lemons over time in their bargain devices, though.

@dageir: Depending on what you want to spend and whether you're willing to deal with warranty replacements, I got a couple of Red Dragon mice for me and my son a couple years ago when they had them on sale. They worked great, but I'm a little heavy handed on buttons and broke mine. His is still going great. They have (had at the time I bought them) an 18 month replacement warranty. They've got a few varieties from basic gaming mice with a couple extra side buttons to the "MMO mouse" with the mini-keypad on the side.

Depends on how big your hands are. If you have big hands like Donald Trump than something like Deathadder would be suitable for you.

Why?
I do not like cables and wires.

Wireless mouse must use battery. This is making mouse heavy and cumbersome for usage. Also battery can die on you in bad situation. I have play Dota with some friend who use this wireless mouse. We jump on man to kill him quick and friend is just standing.

''What do you do friend? We can not kill him if you stand! Go to him for kills!''
''Shit the mouse battery is die! Paused this game!''

We try to paused this game and execute fire alarm strategy. I do not remember if it does work here, but it is annoying either way.

Get one that recharges via USB and you can plug it in at night. I've got an old wireless that uses 2 AA every 3 months or so, and I'm on my computer for work and play 12-14 hrs a day.

There is workaround, yes. But you do not need to employ such thing for wired mouse. It is light and dependable. Wired is the future for certain.

The future is wireless charging via electromagnetic induction a la the new Galaxy phones, Macbooks, etc.
