Why isn't HnH on steam greenlight?

Postby mariochat » Wed Sep 21, 2016 2:52 pm

Being in "eternal alpha" isn't really a problem. Devs nowadays will release their indie game at a AAA game price once their game is only 10% done. But haven is free either ways.
I can't really think of any advertisement made for this game. Honestly would never heard of it before if it wasn't for friends. More people should know how great HnH is.
Is it because the servers wouldn't be able to handle, let's say twice or thrice the player traffic?
I'd just like to hear why adding it on steam would be a bad idea.

The servers aren't ready for large influx of players.

Game sucks, devs suck
Steam greenlight would ruin hnh forver.
Devs dont want it.
Steam takes too big %
hnH is not game for mainstream
Im not sure if they are planning on "releasing" hnh, like ever. Maybe they just work in it until end of their lives. Which hopefully will not be too soon

Yeah, like 30%. Not too bad compared with what EA gets out of a game they publish, though. (Then again, EA and others usually has to pay Sony, MS, or Nintendo licensing fees for publishing on each platform per copy sold.)

And have you seen the reviews of greenlight games? This thing would, at best, have mixed reviews.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Counting the money would take too long.

I always wondered whether anyone else thinks about that too.

For the subject, Steam would obliterate any positive public opinion of hnh since most of the community there expects ultimate perfection from every single early access game. They buy before reading or doing any research, then whine. Pointless.

This.
HnH has potential, someday more people might play it.
But if you will introduce it to large masses in its current stage they will hate it forever. Its not bad game, maybe most hours spent for me atleast. But its not complete.

We can only hope jorb commits to his relationship with loftar and they finally decide to have children together that can assume the mantle.
