location of haven and hearth

Postby webriprob » Wed Oct 12, 2016 8:49 pm

one day i wanted to find out where and when haven and hearth took place so i looked around on the interwebs and i found this info.
it was actually easier than i expected.

When does haven and hearth take place?
the stone quern was invented in 9,000 Bc
the word yeomanry was invented in 1568 and stopped being used in 1978
takes place before 1627 because that's when the last auroch died
so now we know it's between 1567 and 1627
let's say it takes place in 1586
but brown bears are only found in northern Canada and north Asia
boars are only found in Asia
so now we know that it takes place in northern Asia and in 1686

so i made a small map:

Update
i have now realized that i may have made some errors, i will look into this in the future but now i realize that some other plausible locations would be northern Europe, Scandinavia, and maybe Germany

i dunno, correct me if i am wrong about anything

It's actually set on Mars in the distant future after the success of the terraforming project. Unfortunately the colonists lost contact with Earth and most technology was lost.

Not many people know this.

You really shouldn't troll in a thread like this. Yes, OP, i think you're correct.
Total misplay.

Brown bears were native to northern Europe, but are basically extinct by now. Just because the Americans didn't manage to eat them all like we did doesn't mean that H&H had to take place there.

PS: we didn't eat all boars but kept enough of them to let them multiply because they are tasty. Hint: a boar is a wild pig.

Nah, bro. Plenty of those in the woods here. Conservation status "Least Concern" according to La Wik. Unless you're referring to Central Europe specifically.

Well, vegetation is obviously all out of place: fir and birch with maritime pine and olive, we plant tobacco along with pumpkin and beetroot...animals are not the only thing to look at for this question.
