World reset, when?

Postby Amigopen » Tue Nov 15, 2016 1:22 pm

My smol group of friends and myself are wanting to play H&H again after a series of unfortunate antics that I committed that strayed me away from the game for a while, but we are waiting for a world reset so we can get a fresh restart on the game. I know that the world is getting expanded, but are there any speculations of a straight-up world reset? :P

We do not know, and I personally hope it takes as long as possable. But the best way right now is to just play the game again. World still have plenty of open space to start again.

World resets "never happen" so don't count on them. By this I mean that the devs are rarely going to reset things without some extenuating circumstances. It can be a major failure in the server, or just a major update.

w2: major engine upgrade (if memory serves... wasn't here for this one) time of life: ??
w3: major game updates TOL: ??
w4: server crash TOL: 2m
w5: major game update due to botting issues TOL: ~6m
w6: server crash TOL: 2y
w7: server issues that could be worked around, but needed reset for new developments TOL: 2y
w8: several major updates TOL 6m

As you can see, things can really differ. I suggest if you guys want to play, just play. Don't hold your breath for a reset as it could be next month, or it could be a year from now.

If it's that "new world" competition for resources you're after, it shows a basic flaw in game concept.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Also as a note, the players on average is rising after each of the last updates. This world has plenty of life left and seems to be gaining a bit more as we get new things that try and kill us, we can grow... ect...

Hope to see a world reset only when they develop a major update for the map generation.....sea, islands, proper mountains, seasons, etc...
