Salad Stream: A moderate amount of disappointment.

Hello everyone!

I've wanted to take a crack at streaming Haven for a while, and now I've got the time and the means to do so.

I'll be starting a fresh character and sticking with it throughout all of my streams, that is of course until it dies. This isn't going to be a tutorial; as I don't know enough about the game to be confident in my ability to inform new players. However if any new players want to stop in and say hello or ask a question I'll be more than happy to try and get an answer for you or point you in the right direction.

There isn't a set in stone schedule i'm going to abide by, but I'll more than likely bump this thread whenever I go live for Haven. Hope to see a few people stop in and enjoy the show or come in to point out how i'm doing everything wrong and make it a learning experience for me. I'll be going now and I'll probably stream for a few hours.

Stream has ended; went on for 5 1/2 hours!

Pretty good progress for the day; I ended up finding a lot of neat things on my journey; I didn't think to screenshot them but I ended up finding a dead bear, 3 dead deer, and a dead cow all within a few tiles of one another. I was a bit bewildered by it, never had the pleasure of finding so many dead bodies close together. I ended up chowing down on the bear meat but I didn't ever eat the cow or venison; Figured i'd try to save for other FEPs later. Used all of the antlers to make a beast ring; which I am very proud of!

I did however make a bit of a mistake with the bear teeth I had obtained.

Without paying attention, I built them into my claim totem forgetting that I had them in my inventory. This is the stupidest thing I have managed to do in my short time of playing Haven. I still have the bear hides though, so there's that. I also found a lot of neat loot from a decaying homestead that's a short stroll away from my humble abode.

The area I've settled in isn't perfect, and the surrounding area isn't all the fruitful(so far!), But I will tame this wild landscape and make it my own!

On my agenda currently; I'm needing to focus on study materials; and stockpiling a mass of them. I have that study desk so I need to take advantage of it. even just ants and dandelions can make a pretty big difference if you're studying 30+ of them in one go. Those tiny points do add up after a while.

Next; I'm wanting to get the land surrounding my cave flattened and zoned, getting a general layout of how I want my homestead to look. I'm tired of making bases that end up looking like a jumbled mess that only serves to be convenient, not pleasing to look at. Proper zoning and planning will make this come together a lot better in my mind. It might be a little extra effort and might slow down my progression, but it's worth it if I can accomplish the goal of making an aesthetically pleasing home.

And lastly; F O O D. I WANT and NEED to start a farm as soon as possible. I've been handed down a Garden of Eden Creation Kit (G.E.C.K) from the heavens, and I can't wait to begin an actual farm. My farms, and my cooking area will be the first things to get zoned and built.

03/02/2018 Stream is now over!

Lasted around 4 1/2 hours! Didn't get as much done today but I still got a sizeable amount of things out of the way. But before I get to that I want to thank a member of the community that has made a charitable donation to my fresh little hearthling in the form of some travel bags, some waterskins, a sword, a beautiful belt and a pickaxe!

Troll; you have saved me an huge amount of time with these donations and I can't thank you enough! I do enjoy the help and the gifts, however I do not wish to be lifted out of poverty by kind generous souls, If I am to get such lovely things, I would like to either trade or work for them in the future!

Now let's get on with what I did today!

I was getting tired at the lack of storage space in the cave so I decided to build a little goodie hut to store my belongings in.
you might also see there is a trough in there as well. I may have found an animal that someone let wander out of their gate. Thanks for the new pet!

In between bursts of working on the goodie hut and beating my head against the ground terraforming I did a lot of fishing and gathering today, y'know, the general Early game Haven thing. No amazing finds today, just some high quality onions and a few decent quality cucumbers I found in a ruin, don't think they're worth sharing though. Probably go back to the ruin and get a bit more, could really use it.

Like I said, pretty uneventful day, nothing too huge besides troll coming in like a bad ass and giving me stuff, then downing a boar and some bats that were giving me a hard time. I'll have some building to show off after tomorrow's stream.

If you missed the stream or you want to see the trash that I did (all uncut with stuttering and verbal diarrhea included!) You can go onto my Twitch to take a look, the video will be up for the next 15 days I believe. I was pretty sluggish and slow today, so I apologize for that.

As usual, here are my skills and attributes after today, no huge changes, but i figured I might as well share.
