Being the victim of a car accident is far more likely than getting shot in the face by some lunatic, but I don't sit in the basement at home terrified at the thought of drunk drivers ramming into me or losing control of my car whilst navigating a snowy, winding, mountainous road. The prospect of getting cancer and dying a slow, painful death is actually somewhat more concerning than any of the above stuff - especially if you've watched a friend or family member wither away and die. Breaking into cold sweats and biting your nails to nubs is no way to travel the path of life. People really are frightened, fragile creatures at the core of it.
And it's not so much a love of guns, but more a cult of violence that seems to be an issue.
The current crop of gun lunatics are internet narcissists wanting their fifteen minutes of fame. And the media deliver that fame in spades. It's a very queer thing until one looks at internet culture. The mild form of this presents itself like Shubla's America troll posts. For some reason he just needs attention, even if that attention is negative. It's so damn weird. And then the Euro-nationalists pile on. Their self-aggrandizing, faux humanist preening is so boorishly predictable. It's all so facile and pathetic.
While the EU has been busy devising plans to save the fascist, theocratic Iranian regime from financial bankruptcy, Tehran has been directing terrorist operations on European soil. Earlier this week, European officials accused Iran of orchestrating assassinations and bomb plots against exiled regime critics in the Netherlands, Denmark, and France.
