World 11 facts (from the stream)

OK, I did watch the stream on Friday. And even though I did not drink (much) at the time, later I found out that I managed to miss a few pieces of quite interesting information said by devs.

So, I re-watched it again and thought maybe it will be of use to somebody else if I just summarise more or less factual (to the extend it's possible in the circumstances) things said there. I'll give a very brief description of everything with reference to a time point when it was said. So, if it's unclear - go check yourself. Timestamps might be not precisely accurate so I'd suggest go like 10 seconds before the given time just to be sure. I don't pretend it's a complete list but I hope I did not miss really important things at least.

So, here it is:

* We get a new world on Feb 1st 2019 [0:00:00]

* Jorb's base is a mess and client rewrite is not done yet [the whole first half of the stream]

* Reasons for the reset: [06:00]
- Fix food (nerf symbel, transient not rotatable satiations, drinks update [1:17:00])
(nerf pepper/truffels [1:21:15])
(review the whole food list [1:21:30])
- Change siege mechanics;
(remove shields, up drying time for catas and rams [1:36:20])
(warning to the claim owner when cata is built on it [1:37:00])
- Try new world with all the new content rolled out during last 2 years;

* There will be a new map generator [13:30]
- There will be oceans (main and biggest change) [48:40]
- They already have a nice distribution of islands and continents [52:20]
- Cave biomes [57:00]
- More cave levels [1:07:15]
- Land mass is about the same as W10 (but more water and bigger overall map) [1:07:40]
- Cave levels not affected by ocean [1:08:25]
- New terrain, trees, etc [1:27:40]

* There is no precise ETA on when exactly server will be available [15:40]

* Suggestions on how to fix potters clay and siege are welcome [16:30]

* Credos and quests will be looked at [21:05]
- No direct nerf to quest rewards [1:25:00]
- Remove/nerf credo suicide [1:25:30]


* Metal spiraling to be looked at (remove negative effects from having all skills and more) [23:23]
- Clay/metal quality review [1:28:20]

* Jorb's stats were revealed [35:00]

* There are plans to introduce armor repair but not immediately [39:00]

* Belts will be addressed (not being able to carry stuff in belts which are in the inventory but probably increase belt's capacity) [42:30]

* They have archives and all we did during old worlds still exist somewhere [46:08]

* There are whales [48:40] and there will be whaling [51:45]

* No frigging gunpowder [54:18]

* Most probably there will be travel weariness for using roads [55:15]

* No stats cap [56:35]

* Probably sea serpents in the ocean later in the world [58:20]

* Sailer/whailer credos [59:20]

* Rowboats will not be able to traverse ocean [59:40]

* They will look at combat but later. No concrete ideas atm [1:04:38]

* Priority is to fix stats gain, FEPs, siege etc - basically the stuff which will be too late to fix after start of the world [1:05:25]

* Traversing the ocean will be a challenge [1:08:15]

* No immediate client update foreseen, custom clients expected to work as is [1:11:45]

* There will be salt water, probably salt nerf [1:20:00]

* Add tar to rowboat recipe, introduce hollow log boat, changes to boating in general [1:20:40], maybe add sailing boat between rowboat and knarr [1:21:05]

* Drunkness debuff [1:24:20]

* Make it rewarding to be the first to enter cave system [1:28:00]

* Maybe natural wonders to be claimed by realms [1:35:50]

* Hearth tiles for indoor cooking [1:39:30]

* Spawning as usual [1:40:50]

* Probably new way to transport livestock over water (AKA horses on knarrs) [1:43:00]

* Probably no charterstone travel between different continents [1:56:40]

I prolly misunderstood it, thought they said something about botting?

No changes to the approach to botting. Some new mechanics might make some botting harder or less meaningfull. But in general there were mostly jokes around botting and the statement that their stance on that did not change.

I did not write down the timestamp though as I did not feel it's something new...

I correctly understood that with the availability of resources, in an hour you can destroy a claim and/or a small village?
