I read elsewhere that going into a vortex with a Dugout works just fine. Is there a chance that a 100% repaired Dugout breaks when entering a vortex?

Heard so but some people even say it is more sturdy than rowboat with 1 person...

That's easy to say as an observer, but as the actual player you're panicking and the thought likely won't occur to you until too late. The player was trying to swim to safety (which was impossible considering the area but you don't make the best judgments at a time like that) and then tried to hearth home (same, obviously won't work but in a situation like this you try stupid things).
