Att. Jorbar. Keep your promise. Let W16 live!

Postby Granny » Sat Jul 19, 2025 1:45 pm

Just thought I would throw this out there. I have planned and paid because of the promise that W16 will live on after your new world springs to life. I have enjoyed immensely the slow pace that has come with such a promise. Thinking I have time to do all the things I normally do not have time for. I would love for it to just be there, as Legacy have been for so many years.

I am holding you to it.

Cheers!

Counterpoint: population hit the shitter, every game like this needs wipes, especially in this state.

This world did not really launch with significant content. No OCO, no major overhauls, not actually a remarkable world - the world's strengths were only the combination of factors that allowed players to tack on for a lot longer. There will probably be more worlds, and letting them all decay in a pile upon eachother isn't really industrious.

Please refer to the population of the sister game of H&H: Wurm Online, that does not have wipes and check their pop count.

To be fair, Wurm's interface, controls and overall user experience was dated 10 years back. And it hasn't changed much since.
Haven was and Hafen is order of magnitudes friendlier, though very far from perfect.
Wurm is literally P2W with skill limits, unlike in Hafen, last time I checked.
I have a suspicion that these drawbacks might have had some effect on player count.
I hate you! Yes, you!
How does it matter when you die? Today? In hundred years? What will be left of you after millenia?

I don't think wurm is pay to think, I think its more of "Who has more time on their hand or can macro without getting caught or is friends with the staff" to win.

I'd probably play Wurm if they'd do a reset + had active concurrent playerbase in 100+ but they'd rather have 18 vets and 2 newbies running at the same time than risk pissing off those vets by wiping out their stuff with perceived value of bajillion of Euros ( real value rapidly depleting as the game is practically dying )
