[REQUEST] Hafen Community Update 9/25

Postby abt79 » Tue Aug 26, 2025 6:16 pm

It’s been a while since I touched this whole situation. Unfortunately, nostalgia struck me during lunch break, so now I’m curious.

Haven and Hearth has been developing… what’s new? Please consider sharing the latest bullshit.
In case you’re having trouble remembering, here are some Actionable Discussion Questions :) to help you sort out the cacophony of your own mind:
  • Are Haven is kill? W17 When?
  • Any new Big Dramas?
  • What have YOU been doing in the Haven and Hearth?
  • If you’re a quitter too, what else have you been doing with the many hours you would’ve spent clicking rocks and flax and shit?
  • Did that Pills guy quit? Is there even a forums to moderate?
  • Thoughts on “ephebophilia”?

I’ll check in on the 1st. Thanks for humoring an hnh boomer, and dont forget to stay stinky.

It'd be cool if we got a very fast white tail eagle that has a high chance of aggro on random boaters. That's my bird vote.

LMFAO, yeah it certainly seems that way. Maybe even deader than usual; so the whole steam thing was just a cash grab?

I was hoping for some more drama news however I guess a rolling tumbleweed answers that question. Thanks fellas, smell ya later.

I am actually so disappointed in the lack of communication from Jorb and Loftar this world considering the Steam release.

I don't expect patches every month, honestly I would have been happy if they froze the version for each world and dumped them all together on resets.

This game will literally never be anything more than their little side project where they get together once in a blue moon and make a new bird on a weekend. I was hoping that by pushing onto Steam they had decided to get a bit more serious about developing Haven into more than just a yearly cash injection side hustle.

I hope to God that they have something major planned, but I don't really understand why they just go silent if they are developing. They ask zero questions, they barely take feedback or acknowledge ideas, they don't even give us the "Will consider" or "Will take a look at it" anymore.

They told us their plans for S1 and W16 and then nothing was mentioned about it. 2–3 months rolled around with no whispers of S1, 5 months came and everyone thought it still could be happening on the 6th month, but nothing. Did they have second thoughts? Did they have technical difficulties, maybe even legal ones? No one fucking knows — dead promises. Everyone has strong opinions about why Haven worlds go dry, but I am sure the silence from the devs doesn't help. They should be posting Steam updates, blogs about ideas or roadmaps, concerns they have, random fucking shower thoughts about some strange mechanic that no one is thinking about. We have ZERO idea what the next patch will be, we have ZERO idea when it will be, let alone world resets. I would keep my sub up all year round if they communicated more, but generally we have no idea if W16 will be the last Haven world ever. We have no idea — they could just be signing off. Why would I support it if it's dead? It might not be dead (no longer in development), it's unlikely, but we don't fucking know. And I came to the conclusion a long time ago that Haven will always just be a yearly influx of money for some late summer weekend work leading up to resets, with a few little patches on the other side to prolong those subs. They are taking us all for a ride and because I love Haven, I just accept that.

It really isn't hard to just talk to people man like come on, get off your high horses, stop thinking about offending people or being offended by our opinions, just say what you are doing and crack on. its just so annoying not hearing from them and its a valid crash out for most of the community this game has. They really underestimate how much hype patches/posts give people, even if its just taking about land surveying..

Your account has a 2015 creation date, if you didn't see this coming after all these years I honestly don't know what to tell you. You can chart the patches per month starting back at w10 and see a gigantic downward trend, to where we are now - which is if we're lucky a patch every 2 months. The game is effectively dead, it's not even on their radar. Loftar works on the backend for fun but there's no meaningful intention to make the game anything more than it is now.
