I personally like this system, as it gives more meaning to each different use.
Do you specifically want to focus on Attributes? You need to put more emphasis on the third quality while farming.

It also makes having a super node much more rare, many people will have to settle with the strengths of whatever nodes they're on

Drinking water:

E: Energy penalty S: Nothing V: Stam bonus

Food:

E: Satiation reduction S: Hunger reduction V: FEP bonus

Nettle gear:

E: ? S: Apparently nothing V: Surv bonus, Agi penalty

Pattern seems to be that V gives increase in effectiveness, E/S are convenience stats that reduce penalties for items that have them. Jorb specifically mentioned that one of them is responsable for armor having more dura.

Overal vit is the most important quality.

There are simply three instances of quality, rather than one. All three work individually just as quality did. One difference is in how they are implemented in items, where each dimension usually affects something specific.

Could you explain how the quality formula works for Curios LP?

I had a Q14/12/10 dragonfly that gave 1 LP more than a Q13/13/10 dragonfly and I have no idea why there would be a 1 LP difference

Jorbtar never explains mechanics.
And if you havent figured out what these three things mean/do yet, you probably have to wait until the wiki comes up.
I mean its not that hard to to figure out, at all. Just look at stuff. Look at stuff and see what the values do.

Substance seems to have an effect on the amount of hunger an item gives.

EDIT: Vitality increases FEP gain.
EDIT:Essence has no effect on food.

Still not sure what the exact formula is, but there seems to be a small bonus for the highest stat. That is, a 25/10/10 curio gives a few percent more LP than a 15/15/15 curio, even though the average of both is 15.
