It's interesting how many people want the game to be much much easier.

For someone, is a matter of Fair game.

An animal have to run fastly, and humans were used to hunt with long distance, making animal get tired.

A human can drink - eat while running or moving. An animal actually can't, not so well like us.

The Run and Stop hunt is somewhat realistic, but it's not well implemented. Too many details are missing to call it a Hunt tactic. As it is now, is a Breaking Game Mechanism. Animal don't get tired, you get. Animal apparently doesn't suffer from terrain, you do.
It's the opposite of what it should be, according to historic hunt.

Everybody, then, try to suggest theyr solution to fix this nonsense, but probably the best solution would be Add more code to animals, in order to have a realistic beast in front of you. Once you'll be in front of a living beast with his stamina, strong stat and weakest ones, you can try out many different tactics and most of the actual ones will fail ('cuz totally broken).
Thus, the game would feel more fair and when you loose the animal, you feel it... Right. You've lost him, even following his tracks, trying to catch him in a corner etcetera. He was better than you, at that point. Well, FINE. Let's try to catch the next one.

Note: Realism isn't involved to build a boring real life game, here. It have to be involved only when it improve the immersion and the game mechanism. So i don' wanna read "realism sucks" complain about my post, oki? It's no that morbid realism obsession, the realism we are talking about. ;D

Its either add a tracking skill or people will continue to trap animals on cliffs and use stockpiles to trap them in.. same as Legacy, only stockpiles are easier.

Jorbs alluded that this is a placeholder, and that nice things may come some day with more realistic hunting systems.

But for now this is the same issue as legacy and no one bitched about it back then lol. They just waited until they could instakill animals through their run HP range.

Or you could hunt from horseback. That's how I killed a badger today.

I'm not looking for easyer. HELL if it turn around to attack me with a flurry of attacks i would be happy. and face it bows are op, you fking hunters running around one shoting everything and hiding behind cliffs. grow a pair.

if its Realism we are looking for, you guys are still missing that fact I beat this thing to near brick of death.
have you guys even hunted before? when you hit a deer you follow its blood trail in real life. but that fucker dead after it stops. it does not wanna run no more. it's giving up.

If I find a horse I'll do that. in legacy combat was so broken and we complain about 1v1 anything....it just didnt happen.
combats reworked now, its fun now. so we stop bitchs about one thing and move onto the next. welcome to HnH~ and now that they make us pay for stuff. we'll bitch even more cuz now they made HnH their job to fix.

what btw~ THANK god cuz i love this game and want to see it out of its stone age.
WARNING! MY ENGISH SUCKS.

You're exactly right, I am actually quite confident Jorb and Loftar put in a reasonable amount of effort towards trying to eliminate all the ways players could trap animals or get them stuck on walls/cliffs etc. but unfortunately they were not completely successful. Of course, where would this leave us early game if they were? The meat, hide and bones from all of the animals are necessities for any player and/or village and even more-so during the early game phase. If players were truly limited to combat where they could not prevent themselves from being attacked I am pretty sure many of us would be pretty fucked right now due to several factors.

I can honestly say that I don't have the slightest idea how they intend to make hunting more fluid and manageable but I would certainly appreciate it if they made that a priority because it isn't fun chasing shit around for an hour, kiting them in to cliffs to kill them is a terrible mechanic and being forced to de-agro just so I can go catch it is absolutely retarded.
