Who does still use XP?

i play on xp. but i have a desktop which is much more powerful than yours and i run out of memory... my skype will crash if i attempt to voice chat with someone and play haven. i think haven by itself will take 700mb of memory.... i dont think 1g of ram is enough.

if you truley cant buy a new computer, maybe see if you can increase your ram somehow? however i doubt you can play with an older onboards graphics card.... that eats up ram to.

XP wouldn't be the problem (besides security risks when going online), Java neither (depending on with what version the client has been compiled) as you can install older Java from archives (url in Howto Java thread)

the netbook would prolly just allow a creepy gameplay with legacy but for haven the onboard graphic is sure too low ... (it also takes MB from Ram and older 1.6 Atom cpu is creepy crawling anyways

Try to get a used or better refurbished Notebook or PC

If it is an Atom processor, this may not even be possible. All the cheaper devices I've seen myself with this CPU installed have fixed RAM and processors. Even if you can swap out parts when they go bad, the design is such it either isn't practical (requires hacks) or possible.

Yeh. Truth be told, in the long run, learning Linux would probably pay off over making XP work. Would that we preserved and improved things rather than tossing them out for "new versions". But that is, unfortunately, how the world of PC works.

On the other hand, Windows 10 might not be bad. Esp as it is free for the next 9 months or so.

But then, your machine is crap, anyway. And that's your real problem.
