I've been playing for over a week. That isn't much time, but i have never, and i mean NEVER, died at all

Alright, I'll take your bait on what "good" players will have going defenses wise:

Within 3-4 days of starting, you should be able to put up a palisade and a village claim. Within 3-4 weeks, you should have a brick wall.

Well you answered your own question then. If you can't do what I just outlined, you're not on par with how fast the "pros" setup. *shrugs*

Pali within a week, Brick within 1.5 months is average-ish for mediocre villages.

While Haven is indeed a survival game, it's not too hard to survive. Anyone who avoids active conflict with other players can end up living virtually indefinitely. The way the meta has come out, you generally have to go out of your way to die. While I congratulate you on your achievement, be wary of letting it go to your head. Those who think they are immortal soon find out that they're not. =)

That's not how wall building works. You only need to pull full price for the first corner. All corners you build off of that just cost wood blocks. Same for roundpole fences and brickwalls. Though for brickwalls it's still 5 wrought per cornerpost, but still half the wrought cost of the initial cornerpost.
