This happens if you take a milestone while in a boat, and it places you on land, but you are close enough to water that you can clip out of the land and get rowing again. The boat flips over, but the player model doesn't show up.

This, in particular, should be fixed next update. The more general problem that animations sometimes break in boats is known, but we're not entirely sure on what to do about.
