I guess the mixture of shared memory and a TDP of 35W for the CPU takes it toll ... one thing to test would be setting the shared graphics up to 512 MB in Bios (if possible), run the Notebook with power plugged in and Energy Saving Sheme on "Full Power" so it doesn't throtlle down ... 4GB should be enough (about 1.5 for OS and 512 for Graphics memory leaves enough for Java as long you're not watching YT or Skype)
