We have left our gates open a number of times now.

the biggest issuse we've come up with is the bear ramming. Bringing a bear around the city to smash everything in it.
the only fix I can see to this is animle not being able to smash things when they them selfs have entered thought a door

That could be easily exploited for easy hunts, I guess. But I see that it can also be used to grief players that leave their doors open...

I guess that the most neutral solution - at least for now - would be to simply make the animals cut the chase if you pass through a gate. It's no different from getting inside a house or cave to lose aggro, for example, but at least you won't have a way to easily close bears inside picket fences :P

Goo d post Lady.
I haven't been betrayed from the inside since the patch was released, so I think it's a good change. Thanks devs.

I love this game.

There definitely will be trading ports built by factions. But the question is whether people will be able to take few hours long dangerous travel. I think crossroads should be less energy/time consuming to build for better inter-village communications.

My villager are still locking their gates since J&Lo have mentioned there might be bugs. So I guess everyone are just waiting for someone unlucky enough to become the first victim.
No-one I know is planning to build any social space/trading ports yet.

Apparently Alay and I agree on a lot of things this world lol

How would the trading work without barter stands?

I agree with what Lady Goo said earlier. This feels like a part of the system (increase social complexity), but it's not enough to change things massively. By combining the gate + field cairn to give thieving rights in a small area you can have a safe location (for the town owner) to trade goods. But the visitor is offered no protection (as far as I understand it).

Because this is kinda asymmetrical, I don't see myself wanting to visit a stranger's town. They hold all the power. If the protection also reflected on the visitor, except perhaps the claim owners had options like "banish" (cannot enter that claim via visitor buff ever again) and "evict" (either TPs them to HF or to the nearest open gate?) then we might be talking.

I'm living in the ass end of the world though, so it's a bit moot of a point. Maybe I misunderstood the update.

Having built some roads myself I don't see a problem with the construction of them currently
