I imagine the pond to actually be a tar pit, a source for naturally occurring tar. And the geyser a 'sign' of underground water or maybe high q water.
I have no idea what the crystal is.

I thought that troll was like a mini dinosaur at first. Not sure how I feel about the overall look of that

The old troll sprite looks much better, unless the plan is to have a male and female troll in which case if that is the female it looks alright I suppose.

maybe it's where you can build wells in response to the many "can't find a well" threads. :D

Hahah, possibly.
I'd probably take a different path like some notable texture on the ground or something you can dig (like mud)

Building a well on a geyser isn't exactly bright, unless you don't like your bucket :D

my old teacher had a pump well that was built on a very water rich area, once the pump broke, it's just a pipe with a nonstop flow of limestone sweet water.
