It is very complicated. You need to know how each enemy fights in the game in order to fight them.
Ants(don't fight more than 1)-
1.Sidestep(to dodge incoming attack, load up sidestep before the ant gets to you)
2.left hook(use this just once directly after the sidestep executes to get your attack in before the ant reloads his attack)
3.run away a few steps and repeat 1-3 until the ant is dead(get far enough away to prepare for the next incoming attack from the ant)
Also note that the only way to trigger any of the attacks is hitting the number buttons on your keyboard 1-5 corresponding to the attacks you see on your screen(during combat engaged mode).
If you do not pre-emptively go into your attack skill cards menu and narrow down your attacks to include these moves, it could be impossible to beat a single ant.
This it the procedure just to fight an ant. It feels more like dancing than combat with all the running after each hit. The combat feels like it was designed for turn based, but it happens to occur in real time making you run to be able to correctly load up the next skill since there is no waiting for turns.
Or... just get a bow and fire when the bar reaches green. Best used with a hill or river between you and the enemy... and a whole lot of running with punch loaded up for if you manage to get close while chasing them for that final hit.
