I think if you have not claiming the palisade you can wait for it to have some decay section and then earn your freedom.

People don't usually leave their keys to their house sitting around where I live. It's hardly griefing if they take unclaimed items... how do they even know the person is still active?

Griefing is when you kill/find the body of a noob carrying master keys around - and then proceed to change the locks on their base.

Because you expected friendly people in an online survival game?
Have you ever played any other and not feared for your life and or stuff?
Welcome to reality. Where everybody is power tripping in a game where they have a semblance of power.

I feel sorry for you, that it happened to you.
But the part where I don't really feel sorry for you not keeping your weakpoints covered, is a fair amount bigger.

No amount of swearing cussing and bad behavior is going to change the fact that YOU dun goofed.
Have some personal accountability please.
Live and learn.

it takes 48 hrs for soak to reach full.. even with low str, you should be able to damage the newest sections with stone axes (might take a while though)
when i first built my pali, i didnt realize you could easily build more gates (i was used to legacy where you set extra cornerposts for extra gates)
near the end of my pali, i realized you could build more gates so i bashed my own palisade with a couple of low str labour alts.. took a while but was bashable
