To expand on this
[*] Social deficits
Could mean limited eye contact, being "off in their own world" and showing little to no interest in parents or siblings in the room, not understanding sarcasm or when they are being lied to, difficulty noticing facial expressions, difficulty lying or understanding the concept of lying, cooperative play, imaginative play without help or without the use of social scripts
[*] Communication difficulties
May be lacking in vocal ability, unable to take in information and reply appropriately, poor gross or fine motor skills making writing or hand gestures difficult, unable to participate in communication like a typical child/adult would (in that you take in information, process it, and then respond in a timely manner)
[*] Repetitive behaviors
This can involve hand flapping, noise making (in the form of a single tone or yelping, or other noises), stimming (hand flapping, yelling, leaning back in your chair to get a head rush for stimulus), lining up toys or objects into a line or specific order and becoming upset when that order is broken or changed, strict routines and avoidant behaviours when met with change and obsession over strange objects (for example, walking around the classroom with an empty juicebox, for 3 days)
