[*] Social deficits
Could mean limited eye contact, being "off in their own world" and showing little to no interest in parents or siblings in the room, not understanding sarcasm or when they are being lied to, difficulty noticing facial expressions, difficulty lying or understanding the concept of lying, cooperative play, imaginative play without help or without the use of social scripts

[*] Communication difficulties
May be lacking in vocal ability, unable to take in information and reply appropriately, poor gross or fine motor skills making writing or hand gestures difficult, unable to participate in communication like a typical child/adult would (in that you take in information, process it, and then respond in a timely manner)

[*] Repetitive behaviors
This can involve hand flapping, noise making (in the form of a single tone or yelping, or other noises), stimming (hand flapping, yelling, leaning back in your chair to get a head rush for stimulus), lining up toys or objects into a line or specific order and becoming upset when that order is broken or changed, strict routines and avoidant behaviours when met with change and obsession over strange objects (for example, walking around the classroom with an empty juicebox, for 3 days)

Coles works with retarded kids or something, so I guess that we could call him an expert in this topic.

Autism is also on the rise in NA

I'm not sure on the exact numbers atm but I seem to remember it being something like 1 in 80ish in Canada and 1 in 60-something in america

This might not be a reason to be concerned though because the DSM 5 changed the requirements slightly which made it easier to fall under the spectrum

For example, Aspergers (which is a high functioning form of autism) no longer has its own diagnosis in the DSM and has been lumped into the autism spectrum so those people would now simply have autism instead of aspergers.

The spectrum has a really big range... It can range from having some autistic traits to being completely nonverbal. Also, there can be comorbitity under the diagnosis so you can be mentally retarded but also have autism

So you can saying then it would be hard for this spectrum to be filled by just the Haven players' count? And are you knowing why my country will be more autistic than yours? It is relating to obesity for mothers maybe?

Asides, you are following the DSM-5? This is the standard? I think I was hearing for some time it can have some backlash to normalization of trannies or something of this.

Thanks for the replies, I have very interest! I think the rumors of you on this forum cannot be true.

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) is on its 5th edition at the moment and it is the book that mental health professionals use to diagnose people with mental disorders.

Yes, I think I recall to hearing people are using the 4th edition. Because of some changing that is not well accepted to the 5th printings. I am mistaken perhaps?

If you're working in the field you need to stay current and the DSM is basically the Bible for mental health professionals

If someone is still using the outdated versions or are basing their decisions on the old version then they are likely going against their employers ethical guidelines which require best practice for your clients

With that said, not many people working in the field are actually able to provide an official diagnosis and the group of people who are able to provide the diagnosis are also likely involved in the DSM's updates lol

This is seeming like some conflicting interest. These people can write and enforce these mental laws? I think these branches must be a separate body for each of them.
