I'm a little bit more optimistic than you I guess. I don't know what you're trying to imply about everyone here but I clearly hold everyone here with at least a bit of respect.

Yeah. I don't know the price. Best guess would be $60-$100 for a good one. I think they automatically administer a non-lethal shock whenever the dog barks. We have a big dog named Samson that we used one on, but he still barks. Although he did once do it to warn us about a coyote in our yard, it can get a bit annoying, but he does it pretty rarely at night only. Then again, we DO keep him as a watch dog for our chickens, so maybe he just does it because he see's something on the yard? Idk, but again, shock collar would be the best choice.

I own two doberman pinschers that I got from a shelter, so they're really skittish. But when I got to class they never stop barking apparently and always wake my neighbors up in the early hours of the morning. Somehow that breaks a noise ordinance and now I'm worried that the town will euthanize my dogs.

What's the best way to get them to stop?

Train them to stay calm when they're alone and to trust you're coming back and that their place is save even when you're not around ... prolly best with the help by professional dog trainer ... dobermans are normally good to train and fast learners but it's not that easy to train them when unexperienced ...

If you got them from Shelter they already experienced been left alone by their trustee so you have to overcome that too
