This is a really well-made census and I'm pretty excited to see the results whenever you decide to publish all of them

Good idea- and I'm sure jorb/loftar will appreciate this as well.

Another big thanks to everyone contributing to the statistics!

We have almost 60 responses now and the numbers and graphs are starting to look yummy!

Keep them coming! I see a majority of replies from north america/europe so far (Which is obvious because of timezones) but now that a new day shines to the east I'm sure we'll get several more respones while I sleep :P

Thanks, Archi :D
And yeah, I hope they will appreciate the information as well :3

Simple bots question should have included autostudy ;). Good survey, look forward to the results.

Autostudy isn't simple bot imho
It gives you a great advantage because you can study mirkwoods even when you're sleeping

I think simple was about design/technical difficulty - which is very low for auto study

I feel the survey needs more neutral answers. For example, things like
- "[VAULT] Do you/would you vault your stuff?" - The only 'no' answer includes saying you feel vaulting is cheating. I never vault my stuff, but I don't consider vaulting cheating at all (just problematic when EVERYTHING gets vaulted).
- "[DI] How do you feel about the Divine Interventions?" - The only ways of saying you didn't like the way they handled it are either to say you dislike DI in general, or that you don't care. I care about DI and think it's good that it happens, but I disagree with the specific handling of world 9's DI.

I think it was more about 'active' botting versus 'passive' botting. 'Fill smelter' is a convenience function you use while playing actively, while 'switch my curios while I'm asleep' is hardcore auto-playing. While I technically have auto-study enabled, I only use it while playing actively (to save the hassle of switching the curio manually). I don't use any 'passive' bots, which would put me in the 'simple bots' category (I do use things like 'auto-fill the smelter next to me').

Ugh! Autostudy! Yes!
I did think of it when I came up with the idea but forgor to include it in the end... It was probably going to be a question of its own, like Bots or Alts... I could add it now but it wouldn't be right because so many people have answered already, so... who knows, maybe in the future :P

Thanks for the remainder, though :)

Mmm, true. I do see that in some questions, now. It's hard to predict all the possibilities and some thing tend to go out a bit one dimensional before they hit the public, but thanks for pointing it out. In the end it's only a matter of how it was written, though, as for the statistics themselves only the "no" x "yes" will matter regardless of reasons :) (in this case)

Hmmmm it's a way of seeing it - thanks for bringing it up too. I did try to avoid mentioning specific events but all except the "neutral" (the one you don't care) answer are kind of approving DI but diasagreeing to how it was done to various degrees. The second choice, for example, was actually made considering Bob Dole's case: You agree with DIs but think they need a more standard, organized functioning based on precedence. Even the last ones kind of agree with DI - just not with Jorb & Loftar's judgement, believing that more "written in stone" rules should exist for more security. It is, once again though, a question about how I interpreted my intentions X how people actually get them, so interference is expected :) and I appreciate that you point it out :D thanks :)
