Coffee is not drug like cannabis because you smoke coffee in factories, not in your home.

Chemist here. The term "drug" is broadly used. THC and caffiene could both be considered substances that alter brain function. The chemical compound caffeine belongs to a completely different class of compounds than THC. Both have very different effects on the brain.

So sure they are both "drugs." But to say something like "coffee is a drug like marijuana" is simply hyperbole.

but technically speaking coffee is also a drug? Its almost like meth, just a lot weaker, what makes it more privileged than weed? Its also addicting. And it makes people wanna pee a lot

When people say this ''drug'' they usually referring to ''illegal drug,'' I think. Both are technically drug. Many things are technically drug (e.g. aspirin). But people do not put this aspirin, alcohol, caffeine into same category as heroin.

Of course. Asprin is an anti-inflammatory acid, ethanol is an alcohol, caffeine is a purine, and heroin is an opiate/pain killer. Our educational system (in America) does a poor job distinguishing where the compounds come from and why they are different. They simply call them "drugs," which like I alluded to before is purely 80s fear mongering nonsense. Then you get misinformation about them. I heard one of my students before say someone was running around town crazy psycho because he might have been on heroin.....

Well heroin is a powerful pain killer, it doesn't make you psychotic. Education is power.

While we're on the subject, what makes people consider a drug "bad"?

Is it because the drug is addictive? Then why do hospitals use morphine and diamorphine(heroine) as painkillers?
Are they bad for your health? Alcohol is literally poison, and is responsible for more deaths than all illegal drugs combined. Half a million smokers die each year in the US.

If it's because we don't yet know the medical effects of those drugs, it's because of the stigma attached to it. If you apply for a research grant and your paper has the word "cannabis" even alluded to, it'll be shot down in the blink of an eye. No one wants to fund research on these substances because they're too controversial, and because of that nothing will ever change about them.

I'm not saying all drugs should be legal, but people are still going to use them. The stigma against certain drugs just doesn't make sense, and it's only making the situation worse.

Drug is bad because it is not good for productivity. If every citizen for your country is using heroin, they will not work as well. This is bad for economy.

United States. I think this is southern thing. I do not live in this south though.

Huh. The more you know I guess.

Not everywhere in US. I either call it soda or pop, or it's actual name. (Coke, Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew, etc)
Total misplay.

Most Canadians say pop, in America however it's pretty split between pop, soda and coke according to this website.

Can confirm

Source: I say pop and so does everyone who matters. Also, I am Canadian

Marijuana doesn't make people insane either. The drug you are talking about are bath salts.
