edit: guess I should say something on topic... he stood up for a certain philosophy that he believed was more correct than everyone elses. Isn't that one of those "neckbeard" requirements?

Another interesting point I think is how the negative intonations of the word neckbeard when associated with a respected historical figure have caused many people to overlook the simple fact that, while Abraham Lincoln was a great man, he does indeed fulfill many of the requirements of being defined as a neckbeard. Unkempt facial hair. Intelligent. Socially inept enough to get himself killed by his peers.

I think this Lincoln did not became murder from social inept.

No, social ineptitude definitely was not an issue. He was considered a great lawyer and orator. He just pissed off all the slave owners and other such anti-federal government groups.
