Is it abusable as fuck with client mods in Salem?

How is spamming of the same attacks on and on again with an unstable shaky camera better (or even comparable) than the system here?

Are you implying that's not the current combat system in hafen?

No, but in Salem you don't aim "continuously"; you choose a particular aim when you initiate a combat action.

EDIT: Or rather, I guess the main issue is that it seems that the main point of difficulty appears to be the action of using the mouse to select the correct aim, which is something a client mod could remove entirely. Maybe I'm wrong about that, though?

I honestly don't have the answer to the question I never played Salem enough to find out what its combat system was like but that sounds like something that wouldn't be too hard for one of the client developers to program. Instead of taking 5 seconds to manually aim, a script auto targets some feature all player characters have.

They tried that and it got you killed more often than the person being targeted. It messed with your movement too much.

I also agree with Loftar. (If you couldn't tell from the sentence before.)

@Grog
Mate, you just literally described any FPS ever.

But since you aren't impressed by the simplistic combat showcased there (It's fairly new in the Darkfall: New Dawn world, and there aren't a lot of extremely developed characters yet,) here is the other extreme at it's most complex and ridiculous with 100% fully maxed character hybrids:

@Loftar
There is travel velocity on most attacks, and there is no innate ability to target.

Assuming you hacked a client to always aim directly at a player object or used pixel detection, you'd miss almost every shot against a good player.
There *have* been some noticeable hackers for brief periods over the games long existence, but their tenures have been brief. Even then, they just exploited packet data for things like teleportation.
The only aim hack I ever heard of was just an assisted melee tracking hack, and the users banned.

Why do you rely on "something a client mod could remove entirely"? It's nice wishful thinking that custom clients would be able to handle everything, but in pract‪ice newcomers see just the default client button and that's what they use. Highlighting the target be it another character or a building the user points at would help a lot. Visual indicators help tremendously with such things.

Looks cool. Legit subscriptions, no pay 2 win shit. Lol @ everyone calling this a shitty hack and slash as if there are no rpg elements and automatically assuming it is full of hackers. Ya'll are honestly a bunch of haters. I think this looks pretty cool.

Honestly why immediately make this assumption unless you are just hoping to find something bad? Why would you automatically assume a company charging subscriptions for an online FPS has no security in place for this? Do you assume that about every single online FPS you discover?
