Eve will be filled with trolls, idiots, stupid people. currently the community is very good for 10+ year MMO.
Also whole game is based on it being p2p. Mechanics are just broken if they take in f2p players. Of course they are going to limit their access to game features quite a bunch.
But there will still be big impact. Scouting alts, market alts, lots of alts. And dick people.

Quite true though Haven and Salem, the latter of which still started out as your brainchild, are both unique and pretty incomparable games. While they are a time sink, most breaks from them end in me still keeping an eye on both. For example I just hopped back on to have a 1 minute fight with a badger xD

Scounting alt is not a problem untill they cannot use coverops and cloak...
Market alts? you can use your main for that...

I guess would be a problem with dick heads only for few months, then they will quit and come back to COD...after that will be a good thing to have more player and more life in general...
Right now there is no more competition in many sectors..

I believe when mentioning market alts the reference is to the technique by which individual characters are left in multiple regions and market hubs to facilitate price fixing without the time delay of travel.

Just remembered people still do this with their main accounts because you can have multiple characters just only one can be training at any point in time.

Not to derail farther, but all my pilots have stats so far beyond what is going to be allowed.... I'm going to have to open a fifth account (or something like that).

Also going to be a limit on some of the activities, isn't there, such as faction warfare? It'll be a boon for nullsec, hopefully, in getting a lot of people out there with not much to lose.

(If people really want to discuss the upcoming EVE patch, I'll split if off to its own thread. Be interesting to put together a Seatribe corp.... )
