You keep ant farms? That's cool. What species is that queen?

I'm not an expert by any means but i'm pretty sure that its Lasius niger. She has lost multiple broods because of bad keeping, none of them have developed past larvae. I hope that some of current ones will eventually hatch. Preferably quite soon so she can hibernate for winter with some of her brood ready for the spring.


Currently she has quite a bunch of eggs.

If you're having problems with them hatching you probably need to adjust the temperature.

First container that I kept it in was very bad, it was too small and got moldy very quickly resulting in destruction of her brood.
Now she has fancy glass tube which will probably work better, it just takes time.3
