Well the surprise my dad was making finally came out. Apparently if you freeze fruit with dry ice, it gets fizzy, like soda in your mouth. Pretty good stuff!! :mrgreen: Wish I knew how it worked lol

I would think the carbon dioxide would get trapped in the ice crystals that form when you freeze the fruit, and when it escapes it starts popping.

I asked and he said its not really to chill the fruit. The frozen CO2 from the dry ice evaporates, and because its under pressure from the cling wrapped cooler, its got no where to go but into the fruit juice. He says that's how soda is made, by pressurizing syrup with CO2.

That is interesting. I should try that the next time I decide to make something fruit oriented.
