Somehow there is a troll involved with this. And I don't think it's God in this case.

Whatever. JUST GET A WALL UP!!!
I might suggest laying down a claim and just building a fence around it before you even think of building a wall. A completely walled claim is a deterrent to most trolls and thieves, especially when you have little of value.
You only need a palisade or brickwall when you become affluent.
