This is probably best for another thread, but I will allow you to pursue it or say "no". And if you say "no", we'll leave it there.
Why not? There is one wonderful thing about HnH and building games in general. It is that you may build in them as you wish.
I love the Civilization series, especially 4 and 5 BNW, because they allow you to make religion an important part of things, or not, as you wish. And you can do with your religion more or less as you want. You can make it your own nation's religion, make it spread to other nations, simply not care. And in BNW you can make up whatever religion you want, as you want. This pleases me, and enrichens my games. Even Civ III has technologies you can compete for that are religious in nature, and I do.
In contrast, a game like The Sims series excludes religion almost entirely. You do not have any outlet for prayer, worship, adoration, or the transcendent things at all. Any that do exist are entirely modded, and leave out a great many actions that do occur in most religions - prayer, sacrifices of some manner, meditation, sermons. It leaves the game sadly hollow because for many people worship, religion, spirituality, call it what you like, is a part of their life, if not the core of it.
Even if we don't include IRL religions - which I understand - I do think some outlet of spirituality, religion, sacred ritual, piety, whatever, belongs in this game. I never thought the ancestral shrine was enough, but even that seemed a good start to me.
Of course, it's not up to you or me; it's up to jorbtar, and I leave it to them, naturally. But if they were to make IG religions or religious objects, would it be so bad?
