I played salem for like 30 minutes, gave up when there was like nothing to do and I did not understand anything. Kind of logged on for a few days making maracas, possibly a leaf mask to study...

That sounds as something neat, but just fluff. Is any core game system different or better? Especially system that cause some troubles here like combat and siege.

Salem is Jorbtar's other game that is better in all ways. HnH is the vestigial tail of Salem. Luckily some real developers bought out Jorbtar and ran with it.

It's funded by non-game breaking micro-transactions (hats, capes, quicker tools, wall art, furniture and rugs) and not subscriptions which is much better than HnH's attempts at funding.

Also it's a permanent server unlike HnH and of course grindy MMO's like EVE, Black Desert and Salem are much, much better when they aren't being wiped every year simply to keep raided/killed subscription players from cancelling their subscriptions.
