well unless the map was expanded to adjust things.

Though it would mean the PvP people wanting to kill early world for the LOls would have plenty of targets....

The masses would potentially outnumber the amount of PvPers. While they would have plenty of targets, a group of 40 or more could probably outnumber them.

Blood. Blood everywhere. All the vets would surge forth and begin the Great Sprucecap Genocide, to cut down on the lag. Jorbtar expands the map, but by then 90% of the players have quit.

I can a imagine a desolate wasteland, filled with hearth fires, tree stumps, wilderness camps, decaying log cabins, stockpiles, and a few pali bases in between.

Skeletons. Don't forget skeletons everywhere.

Jorbatar would sell the game to Microsoft, write a post on the forum " Adieu my little bitches "...Then they would buy an island in the pacific ocean to party with Notch and all those lucky guys and they would never touch a computer anymore for the rest of their life. Tbh i would be happy for them....screw the system.

Let's assume we actually have the resources to handle them.

SYSREQ FOR THIS FEAT:
It would take a map perhaps 5 times as large as world 9. At least. jorb and loftar would have to get together a commune (since they are averse to corporations?) of at least 24 developers in various fields (more likely 50). Updates would still be weekly, and need to meet their approval, and they would still interface with the public directly. 90% of the ideas would still be theirs, and they would approve 100% of them, but 75% of the work would be done by the staff.

THE FIRST WEEK:
95% of them would ragequit within the first week - either because there's not enough documentation to teach them how to play, they get slaughtered by b12ers, or they find out it's a boring grindfest with no direction.

AFTER THE FIRST WEEK:
The remaining 5,000 people would form large but noobish confederations of hermits, trading centers that get rekt by Dis and AD, or roving bands of merciless murderers who only beat the veterans due to numbers (but who are just slightly less skilled than the current Poles and Russians). The world would become slightly fuller than w9, dwindling to about 2500 people by next year, but hopefully reset wouldn't be for another three.

THE FORUMS:
The forums would be packed with 95,000 noobs who flood our poor, underequipped staff with 100s of 1000s of questions. jorbtar would create an FAQ and make it the front page instead. The remaining 5000 would light the forum like New York City.

MUNNY:
jorb and loftar would get 150 new subscribers, 250 new verified accts, and would open a whole new section of the store to hats. They would churn out a new hat every month, and each hat would sell for $5, and each hat would sell an average of about 350, with the MHGA cap being about 200, the reintroduced pharaoh's crown 155 units, and the surprise hat no one was expecting - Playboy bunny ears - selling a whopping 587. They will introduce a faster items shop (selling items with speed boosts, armour boosts, slight bonuses) and a mircocurrency in the first month. It will be called the Seatribe whaletail kroner and sell for $2.99 USD for 150 kroner. They will be able to afford a cottage on the Isle of Wight (if it's not too dear), if they scrimp and save.

I think having 100,000 new players is a bit much to hope for if we don't expand the base naturally. But shooting for a thousand, or maybe even 5000, might be a dream.

You are much loved! Love in return!
