This 3D version looks bad. The old haven style was perfect.
As a programmer, I can say that it is easier sometimes to write a code from scratch than to fix a problem in legacy code. Also 3D version is not bad as you think, I was skeptical at first too before I tried it.

Im pretty sure that this is the case with HnH.
Its a LOT of work to completely rewrite everything. But its most likely less work than to "fix everything"...
