pretty much punching at like 35% opening
it only does a few damage per attack so its not overdamage / overkill
hopefully loftar looks into it.. the 2nd horse that died would have been tamed on that run but oh well

Did you tame while animal was trapped in a small space?

I should have known to look in the forums for something like this before I experienced it first hand. This logic does not add any value to the game experience for me... Maybe have this happen 50%of the time so that you never know which kind of boar you might encounter?

Am I the only one who thinks this is a good change? If your biggest problem is that you now have to be aware when spamming a running animal you need different problems. Has made hunting far easier in my experience of the change.

You'll change your mind when you'll kill animals when taming ... It will come :)

I am all for new animal AI. This change however just makes us get the animal stuck in a different way before we kill it. A change in tactic adds nothing. If for example... they changed the AI in a way that was meaningful and we no longer had a 'need' to get the animals stuck anymore... that would be a good change.
