Invasive surgery to "cure" psychiatric conditions -- and going by sucide rates and post-operative quality of life I have to question the efficiency -- is in gross violation of the Hippocratic principle. "Transsexualism" has a strong and obvious overlap with obscure auto-erotic tendencies and obsessions, and I am not at all convinced that encouraging and promoting it is the kind and loving thing to do.

I may be convinced that I am the Emperor Napoleon, but I would have to question the integrity of any doctor who thinks that applied artificial aging -- to give me the appearance of having been born in 1769 -- and surgical length reduction is the proper way to approach this condition.

You can cut your Johnson off as much as you like, but what you have at the end of that is a scar, not a vagina. Your chromosomes, likewise, are what they are. You can remake yourself into some strange simulacra, but it will never be as real as you want it to be, and I suspect that many will find the realization of this fantasy a pretty bleak experience.

Trepanations and lobotomies, similarly, are not uncontroversial treatments, and nor should they be.

How people will learn if you give them the answer all at once? You must lead them to discover it themself!

I read an interesting hypothesis stating that lack of some hormones in mothers body during the child development in the womb can cause its brain to develop like the brain of opposite gender, and varying on the stadium of development it occured it can affect only your sexual desire making you an homosexual or also how you see yourself etc giving a logical explanation behind transsexualism and homosexualism

also some people just get a boner from that thats undeniable

but i mean people who really want to be of different gender and they feel trapped and hopeless because theres nothing they can do

I've known several trans people before and they've all been wonderful. I see nothing wrong with living your life the way you want. They're not hurting anyone by doing what makes them happy. I read a science article before, the name escapes me now, but it was a study on brain chemistry. What was found was that a trans person's brain is more similar to the gender they say thay are, ie men and women have different brains and a trans woman's brain is more like a female brain than a male brain.

Just to note, there are no worthless perverts, just perverts of differing values. Only because certain people feel rejected by society (usually with some merit to the feeling) does their worth go down. Nobody is telling you you have to adopt their lifestyle, just to be tolerant enough to work beside them. If you feel otherwise, you're not really acting like a human yourself, just an over-intelligent animal.

Don't get me wrong. I accept you for your straight and narrow viewpoint because it is something you can't change about yourself. I will not force my worldview on you if you don't try to force yours on me.

This does bring up a longer argument in religion and philosophy about hedonism vs virtuousness.

I'm not a trans, but I do have mental health issues and other problems. I can tell you that people with "different" viewpoints usually put on a happy face in public, even with friends. Good friends can see there's something behind it, but acquaintances and others will never have a clue.

Overall, I think getting this all public is better. We can only truly free ourselves of these inner demons when we share them. We can't share them unless we feel comfortable, relaxed, and, most importantly, safe.

Also, reminds me of a book I read years ago by Roger Zelazny, if I recall right, where frequent sex changes were the norm.
edit: Thanks to borka for reminding me the name of the book "The Lord of Light."

What if the value is zero?
