yeah im not gonna be touching any capacitors, really paranoid when it comes to that as well, on top of being scared of destroying my laptop

it's a good idea checking on youtube about my laptop model, will do that

btw how do you replace thermal paste? Did you un-solder the processor from the motherboard, put the paste, then resolder it?

no lol, you dont have to take it out
just unscrew the heatsink which should be on top of cpu and clean old paste off and put new one on the cpu. do same with gpu. lmao you can use rubber gloves if you are 2 scard when youre doing it to have some protection from static electricity

I might try that

the dilemma is between buying thermal paste and acquiring some screwdrivers vs bringing the laptop into a technician service place

Yea, exactly like this

dont do it

If you bring it to shop make sure that its good shop with good guys.
That they properly disassemble it and clean everything.
It may be that they are lazy and stupid jews that only take your money, apply some pressured air to your keyboard and give it back to you, saying that they did complete cleaning to it!

My laptop CPU was heating up to 95C and crashing when I was playing HnH. Have not opened it for over 4 years, since purchase.

Like everybody else said, found Youtube vid for my model, disassembled, applied thermal paste, put everything back together. Laptop not working. :o Freaked out. Took apart and put back together again. Worked. CPU temp peaks at 62 degrees now, does not ever crash. Will do again eventually.

Used a toothbrush to clean out the dust - the fan and everything else was covered by thick layer of it.

Sounds like a similar situation to mine. Thanks for the perspective

just a small protip: if you decide to disassemble your laptop yourself, take pictures of every step so you know how to put everything back together.
