As soon as a world reset is announced, the population crashes. Predictable world resets with the current mechanics would just hurt the population in the second half of the world and discourage new players from trying it out. Even if a lot of people feel it would be useful to know, people would most definitely play it less.
This could change if there's some long term benefit world to world to play for, but that's a pretty big design decision and directly goes against the possibility of having a perma world at some point.
