I don't tip, and it's not really a common thing here, except if it's like a fancy restaurant but I virtually never go to those. IMO waiters should be paid enough to live on, and tipping just enables shitty owners to underpay their staff. If they can't afford to pay employees they should close the business. People agree to work a tip-based job out of desperation, but this income is very unreliable and it creates conflict among staff.

i give her the tip if u know what i mean ;D;D;)

here in canada land i tip like 10-20% heh

So you say that you do not tip in good, but will tip in service? Do you convert this service of you as gigolo to the cash value or just treat one session equals one tip?

Why is expectation different for fanced vs. unfanced restaurant? It is consider rude to tip in restaurant that lack in fance?

I think in my country there is law for them to get minimum wage if they do not make this much when tip is considered. But I think good waitress can make much more than this minimum with tips. I do not think it is greed to pay employee based on merits. Service is very important to food business and to tie this compensation to performance is good ideas to me. Maybe it did not works like these in your land?

Have you ever tipped with good? What do you think about this good tipping?

northeast US here.
you tip (10-20%) no matter what. i understand the purpose of it, but unless the service is exceptional i think it's mostly a scam.

In Finland we like to pay our employees proper wages so you don't tip ever in any occasion.
I think everybody should stop tipping so then employees either die of starvation because they can not afford buy food or rise on barricades and demand reasonable wages.

In case you're from the US: You think wrong.

Also happens in some other sane countries, should happen everywhere but dosn't.

This.

I think the problem with capitalism can be best shown by comparing what we pay the people we let look after our children (teachers, nurses, ...), compared to the people we let look after our money (banksters, insurance fraudsters, ...).

Yeah ... true, and sad .... also the school system is pretty bad.

Capitalism has survived communism. Now, it eats away at itself.

It depends on state, but in general it is how it works.

If you like this communism you may continue living in those communist country. But I think it is reasonable to save some room for the other men with different idea in his own country.

If it is a more difficult job to care for children than to look after money, this market will correct.
