Its not just for the show, but actually for the preventation of trucks driving into crowds during events that gather lots of people to the same place.

Also if people start driving trucks to crowds, you just have to try to prevent it by doing something, such as blocking their way, which works quite well. Its not a conspiracy or anything to brainwash citizens
