In the beginning there were two beings: jorb and loftar. These were not the jorb and loftar we know today, but still a jorb and loftar. There are always a jorb and loftar. This is the nature of the world. When you see the world, the politics, the future, the satellites in space, and the people who put them there, there was a jorb and loftar. You can look at everything as a jorb and a loftar... two beings, in harmony and at war...

These jorbs and loftars have fought for time immeasurable. This struggle knows no end.

From this picture we see that loftar has a larger head, indicating a bigger brain. He may use his superior intellect to use dirty tricks in the fight while jorb just uses mindless punches.

Here we see that loftar also has wider shoulders, which correlates with higher upper body strength. Not only is he more intelligent, but he seems to be stronger as well. We haven't seen any of their legs yet though.

From this we may conclude that jorb is shortsighted. Either he would have to wear glasses, which gives him a weak point, or he would be at a severe disadvantage.

Another good image for comparison.

While loftar is clearly superior in every way so far, jorb has homeless man facial hair, indicating he might try a wildcard approach to the fight. With Jorb, you never know. I'd bet my money on loftar though. I think jorb would get absolutely decked in <1min.

I have spend a lot of time to research these subject. I agree that this loftar will likely have edge here. He do not earn this nickname ''The Butcher'' by mistake. But we can not underestimate this jorb. I think he likely have loftar already under the spell of jorb seduction, so if he lose fights will not matter if neither man has desire to fight.

There is an idea of a jorbtar, some kind of abstraction, but there is no single being, only an entity, something illusory, and though you can feel its cold gaze and you can shake its hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense its lifestyle is probably comparable: jorbtar simply is not there.

So I bet my money on him.

It's the quiet ones you have to watch out for.

Well, if nobody has posted after you, you can delete your own posts--the [X] on each post you've created. It shows as long as the right conditions are met. You can't delete posts in Announcements at all. Flag a moderator if you want to get rid of a thread... looks like everyone is having reasonable fun with this one, though.

As far as jorb or loftar, I think jorb would totally win a chess match. He has seems to have that creative edge that allows unique strategies to be formulated. One can't discount computative analysis of the board, though, in making the best decisions, so it'd definitely be a good match.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

It's a myth that chess skill is correlated with intelligence or creativity. Like any other game, chess is something you get better at by studying chess, and this skill really does not translate outside of the game.

No it is not, chess skill is definitely correlated with intelligence. Is an idiot who has played 2000 matches going to beat a genius who is playing for the first time? Of course. Is an idiot who has played 2000 matches going to lose to a genius who has played 2000 matches? Of course. Every game is correlated with intelligence.

Umm... I'm pretty sure the average IQ of an American football professional is well below average.

If every other factor were a constant, dumb players would be outplayed by smart players. I'd say the reason for what you said is that smart men are not attracted to such careers.

Contrarian as always I see.

My main point is simply that chess is not significantly different from another game like League of Legends, in that time spent studying and practicing the game itself brings you knowledge that is really only applicable to that game, and is something that cannot be circumvented by pure cognitive ability.
Of another era.
