Well, in theory (as in could but usually dosn't happen) the people could remove the powers that are (through something called elections) - when they don't they must be the ones responsible for the outcome...

But I'm with you that leaders should be selected differently compared to what we so far tried (I'm quite sure that pulling these from inbreeding families by default - monarchy - isn't the best plan). A way to select someone both qualified and not overly keen on the job would be needed, possibly we should just do a raffle over the whole population as the result can't be that worse than what we get with the currently employed selection process (which seems to be perfect to filter in sociopaths).

We should all migrate to Finland.

..... cause you morons are bombing my country so you can import cheap labour for low-paid jobs, while you are not even capable anymore to make babies, being the dying society you are, and that's why you need us.

I'd like to remeber that just after a century there was a barbarian emperor in Rome.

Sweden is just the first, left-wing ideologists strengthen their grip on the world's politics every day.

Democracy is just a more widely accepted form of dictature. It is just as Bad, maybe worse
Because all decisions are only planned for 4 years or so ahead...

We need a meritocratic worldwide republic with the following guidelines:

A world in which every child gets an equal chance to succeed in life.
The abolishment of party politics.
Only those with a relevant education and work experience should be allowed to vote, rather than just anyone who has reached the age of 18 or 21.
The introduction of 100% inheritance tax, so that the super-rich can no longer pass on their wealth to a select few (their privileged children). This would mean the end of the elite dynasties and hereditary monarchy.
Replace democracy with a fully transparent meritocratic republic, under a meritocratic constitution.
The end of nepotism, cronyism, discrimination, privilege and unequal chances.

we need this but sadly it may never come to be. humans are too stupid and selfish and stubborn, each in their own way. pride hinders attempts for peace and prejudice stops so many good opportunities. Until the majority of people in power are willing to relinquish all self-gain that comes from their status, for the actual betterment of the world, we wont be getting anywhere close to such a republic.
