Honestly, i love the systems design.

It creates a unique and consistent value to expanding your skill set, base and general production. however, i tend to not play forever, you always fall behind due to botting and when you think i'll come back and play. You see stats like above and know you have little chance, i know you can trade your way back in (we did that) sold tons of subtokens but in the end botting continues to put you behind. Especially because the group i play with has no real interest in trading, we enjoy the relaxing aspects of building something and exploring for resources in this game. Although we come from many pvp games and is often our primary focus, this game offers us a very different style we like. Without the pvp the game feels better for us.

Haven and hearth is one of the few MMO i love that i would prefer to play with just a small group of friends on a private server, something i never expected to find in a game. I love MMO's and pvp but this is just different for us.

To answer the question fully, i play for the endless progression, the value that comes with it and the systems design to support it.

I love to play the game, this is one of the games I keep playing. The fact I can set my own goals. My states matter to me, I try not to compare them to others cause that ruins the fun of see myself grow (plus I noticed a lot of the players that pushed there states to quickly quit).

But I can do as I want, play as much or how little I want. Even after almost 2 years there things for me to do. So I burned threw most of the game content, but I am making my own (this is a sandbox game). Though I have run into I have to much to do at once issues (having so many ideas is as bad as not having any).

The last game I was so into I stopped playing cause the player base was toxic even to the dev. Its player base is far less then H&H ever has been. But you know the games no longer any fun when shortly after you quit the dev gives the game devilment to a council of players.

I like building anywhere in the world. Most games call themselves sandbox but only make it possible to make house in specific places and specific length and width. Haven world is really huge and you can choose how to make base etc.
And also I like meeting people in haven. It is like chat room with a bonus game.
Not knowing names of people is also fun, then when you get to know someone it makes it seem more worthwhile. And haven is a bit like trust game I think, sometimes can meet really nice people and other times it makes you wonder.
