It completely depends on demand for such things.
If crossing oceans is time consuming and difficult, there will surely be local markets on each continent.

Though there is also a chance that player count just wont support more than 1 market, and everyone will be living on like 1 continent.

I don't know about the world not having enough players to support more than one market. W10 had several. they may not have been as grand as CF but they were there. if we end up having several markets you may have players that do commerse between the markets exporting and importing goods form othermarkets. depending id the prices end up being different elsewhere

As long as there is no one click teleport across continents I would pay someone to get me some cheap goods from a noob island.

This. There's going to be a lot of players who just don't want to mess with the ocean crossing (even if it will only be 15-20 minutes tops*).

*pure speculation. For all I know, crossing the ocean will take an hour (I hope not for player's sanity).

I am planning a small market at my village, with about 7 houses for people to use who are not from my village, for shop managing.
I Hope local shops will become a thing in this world.
