The most in demand hats are the witch hat, the pirate hat, the four winds hat, the launch helmet, the propeller hat, the paperbag hat, the cat hat and the pickelhaube. They were all released early in world 8 back when barely anyone was playing, so they're quite rare.

The only one I to this day am still on the fence about is the Quest Giver's Stump. I would never wear it because it's ridiculous, but it has historical value. But again, I would never actually use it, so I never bought it.
